Art Exhibition of Latino Painters at Nuestro Banco
Starting on February 28
Three Hispanic painters will have an art exhibition at Nuestro Banco during the NC Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Business & Salsa networking event, tonight February 28th, at 6 pm. Nuestro Banco is located at 1408 Garner Station Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27603.
The art exhibition will last for three months and is part of Nuestro Banco’s program to promote Latino artists in the NC community.
The Hispanic Business and Salsa is held monthly and allows Hispanic businesses to network and develop potential opportunities, as well as to grow and share ideas with owners from varied industries.
Artists taking part in this exhibition are David Correa from México, Gina Gomez DeGrechie from NC and family in México and Pablo Améstica from Chile.
David Correa
Correa has no formal training as an artist. He believes his work emanates from his soul, communicating experiences and spiritual values in his own vocabulary. He is a painter sifting through his own inner sources of creativity; a visionary artist whose work invites contemplation.
On Correa’s surfaces, shapes are audacious and flat colors produce volume. Although Correa’s painting evades classification, there is undeniable interest in aesthetic discussions where color unfolding freely on canvas is everything. As the main element in his work, it enables the search for essence. As Matisse said, “Minimum resources in the service of maximum results.”

Gina Gómez DeGrechie
Gina Gómez works using soft pastels. “Pastels have the same stature of oil and watercolor as a major fine art medium” Gona says.
Gina Gómez explores the use of pastels creating paintings of realism, concentrating on natural settings. The contrast of colors, lights, shadows and reflections in each of her paintings express her feelings of unpretentious love for art and the passion for nature’s beauty. Gina Gómez was awarded with the Honorable Mention, Pastel Category, Kennedy Promotions, Virginia (Best of North Carolina Artists and Artisans 2005)
